Normally the boys wake between 6AM and 6:45AM. I finally went and woke them at 7:35. I dont know if this had anything to do with their first feeding, but if it does a little extra sleep time will be great!...
Wyatt woke full of energy, his usually happy go lucky self. Doc woke still seeming very tired. He is usually very itchy in the mornings and continued to be so today.
With thinking to break them into the new feeding gradually I had planned to feed them kibble at one feeding and raw on the second. I placed the kibble out this morning and they both sniffed it and then proceded to look at me like "are you kidding me?"...SO Raw this morning it was and they happily ate every bite!..They will be getting two patties each per day as per the recommended weights on the package.
Soon we will see just how much they enjoy their Mommas homemade Raw with Elk and veggie slop!..

First Batch of mixing
Yummmmm - Elk, dehydrated veggie/fruit slop, bone marrow, and to top it off when serving Salmon oil!..
So because I'm still learning it took me about an hour to prepare a weeks worth of meals, divide and freeze. I'm sure with time I will be able to do this quicker. But for now I continue to read and adjust the ingredients.
OUR first MEAL!
Today is the Day and an exciting moment it was in the kitchen! After months of debating and loads of reading we have decided to switch to Raw. We've been feeding Canidae with great success but Doc continues to have itching issues. That along with reading the Raw feeding it just makes sense that dogs would thrive on this type of feeding.
I've set up this blog so that you can follow them on their journey from leaving kibble to going ALA natural!..For now they have started with a purchased Raw beef by Natures variety - this yummy little patty the boys where very excited about!... They will be getting that for dinner and kibble for breakfast. I have already "mixed" their first batch of Elk/veggie yum yum! As I continue to read and learn about this diet I will post my thoughts and the boys progress.
